  • Esteban Ocon joins Tom Holland to launch the new Spider-Man movie teaser.
  • Global teaser launch achieved a record seven hundred eighteen million views.
  • Haas driver Ocon showcases his lifelong passion for the Marvel universe.

Esteban Ocon, who races for the Haas F1 team, was among the fans who helped Sony Pictures and Tom Holland launch the teaser for their upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to release on July 31, 2026.

Interestingly, the trailer was released uniquely, with Holland announcing that several fans worldwide were enlisted to share a one-second clip from the teaser on their social media before the full teaser’s official release.

Ocon has been vocal about his love for Spider-Man on and off the paddock, often expressing his passion for Marvel superhero movies and comics. His long-running love for Spider-Man was also brought to the grid last year, when he opted for a Venom-Spider-Man-themed helmet for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The teaser launch was successful, garnering 718.6 million views in 24 hours. Shortly after, Holland shared a brief message thanking Ocon for contributing to the teaser launch.

Ocon joins Spider-Man: Brand New Day global launch

Ocon took to Instagram to share two slides of video: one bearing the teaser announcement and another featuring his brief clip from the movie. In the first clip, Ocon sported the web-slinger mask, then removed it to reveal that he had been chosen from France to be part of the global teaser launch for Holland’s fourth outing.

Expressing his enthusiasm as a die-hard Spider-Man fan, he said, “Hi, everyone! I’m super excited to be part of the launch of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer. I’ve been a huge fan of this character for as long as I can remember. I travelled all over Europe in a truck with Sam Raimi’s trilogy. It’s almost as if I grew up with Spidey.”

His part of the teaser featured Peter Parker, donning a black vest, suspiciously looking around a technologically equipped environment filled with webs.

Later, Holland specifically released his video to thank the Haas driver for helping launch the teaser. He said, “It was lovely to see you in Monaco. I wish you all the best for the season. Good luck and thank you again.”

Where did the love for the web-slinger begin for Ocon?

In 2024, Ocon revealed to The Athletic that his love for Marvel began when he was 11 years old. At the time, he used to travel across Europe with his father to compete in significant go-karting races, aiming to one day reach Formula 1. He mentioned that during his travels, he only had DVDs of the original Spider-Man movies and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which sparked his passion.

“You are into the story so much, and you kind of dream about it. There is nothing else. It’s complete disconnection,” he added, referring to the beloved Marvel stories. He also shared how he has watched these films so many times and has every dialogue by heart.

He also surprises his family with his fondness and knowledge of Marvel, as whenever they all go to see a movie, he knows exactly how many post-credit scenes it includes.

Currently, Ocon stands 16th in the driver standings with 0 points. However, the team is 4th in the Constructors’ Championship, just a point away from overtaking McLaren. Up next is the Japanese Grand Prix!
