Madame Tussauds announced that the current reigning world champion, Lando Norris, will be honoured with a wax figure in London, which is likely to be unveiled this summer.

Norris worked closely with the museum team, providing key measurements to help create a realistic figure and offer fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience to pose with their favourite driver.

Norris talks about Madame Tussaud’s treatment

The Briton has been working with the museum team to immortalise himself at Madame Tussauds. In a recently released video, he appears to be patiently and precisely providing key measurements from head to toe, including detailed face and body measurements, colour matching details for his eyes, hair, and skin, and being photographed from every angle.

Sharing his feelings about the process, he said enthusiastically, “It’s pretty surreal to think I’ll have a figure in Madame Tussauds. It’s such a big honour. Working with the artists has been awesome, and seeing all the detail they’ve put into the figure is really impressive. I can’t wait for fans to come and see the finished figure in London this summer.”

He also left a note for the museum, which read, “Never smiled too much literally, thank you,” followed by his signature.

Norris preserved in wax, led by authenticity

The McLaren driver, who made his F1 debut in 2019, has risen massively in popularity, not just for his driving and consistency, but also for his ventures off-track. These include his strong personal brand, LN4, his Twitch and YouTube presence with Quadrant, his love for golf, and his karting brand.

Known for his down-to-earth and kind personality, Norris has not only made a name for himself in the pinnacle of motorsport but has also helped redefine it by openly advocating for mental health, something often overlooked in elite sports.

Despite all the criticism and hate he received in his career, he has continued to stand tall and speak about his struggles and experiences, often showcasing that vulnerability is not weakness. Through both highs and lows, Norris has stood by McLaren and played a key role in bringing the team back to the top, as reflected in their back-to-back Constructors’ Championship title over the last two years.

While Norris is a prominent pop culture figure, he also represents resilience, kindness, and perseverance. The Madame Tussauds honour marks another achievement in his career, as it goes beyond just a wax figure and stands as global recognition of his identity, connection with fans, and the legacy he is building.

This honour has also been given to other drivers, such as Lewis Hamilton, who has figures in Dubai and London, and Sebastian Vettel, who has one in Singapore.
