# Haas lands new F1 title sponsor for 2023 on multi-year deal

The Haas Formula 1 team has signed a new title sponsorship deal with American money transfer firm MoneyGram in a partnership that will begin from 2023.

Since its termination of previous title partner Uralkali in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Haas has been without a major sponsor.

The American-owned team removed Uralkali’s branding from its VF-22 cars during the first pre-season test and has competed the 2022 season in a plain white livery.

But on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s United States Grand Prix, Haas announced it had landed a multi-year deal with MoneyGram which will see it become title sponsor from next year.

“We are pleased to welcome an incredible brand like MoneyGram as our new title sponsor,” said Haas F1 team founder Gene Haas.

“Since our entrance into the F1 World Championship in 2016, Haas F1 Team has earned a reputation of strength, agility and resilience. MoneyGram brings a similar drive to the world of financial services, and we’re ready to work together to maximise results on and off the track.”

MoneyGram will be Haas’ third title partner since it entered F1 back in 2016, with the team’s two previous partnerships with drinks company Rich Energy and Uralkali ending early.

Alex Holmes, chairman and CEO of MoneyGram, said: “MoneyGram is a different company than it was even five years ago. We’ve reinvented ourselves into a global leader in the evolution of cross-border payments with our fast-growing digital business and strong culture of fintech innovation – and we’re just getting started.

“That’s why we’re hitting the accelerator by making our debut into the world of F1 and teaming up with Gene and Haas F1 Team.

“We can’t wait to officially kick off our long-term title sponsorship with Haas F1 Team and start collaborating to create exciting and meaningful customer experiences at the intersection of Fintech and Formula 1.”

Haas confirmed it will be known as MoneyGram Haas F1 Team from next season, and in addition to a different name the team will have a rebranded livery for 2023.

“Our fans demand speed, and we deliver it, just as MoneyGram does for its customers,” said Haas F1 boss Gunther Steiner.

“MoneyGram is a global leader in fintech and payments and is always setting out to push the boundaries of technology. It’s that eagerness for innovation that really drew us to partner with MoneyGram, and we’re confident that we will continue to grow together and reach our full potential.”

Haas currently sits eighth in the constructors’ championship ahead of the final four races, level on points with AlphaTauri and 11 points behind seven-placed Aston Martin.

The team is one of two teams yet to confirm its driver line-up for next year, with current incumbent Mick Schumacher fighting to retain his seat alongside Kevin Magnussen.
