# Ferrari unveils one-off celebration livery for Italian GP

Ferrari has released images of the special Formula 1 livery it will run at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations.

As Ferrari builds up to its home race, the Italian outfit teased on social media earlier this week that it would add yellow to its 2022 car at Monza, before an official unveiling on Wednesday.

The F1-75 features a yellow engine cover and rear wing endplates, with the famous ‘F lunga’ design incorporated onto the rear wing.

As well as yellow team kit, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will race in yellow race overalls and sport yellow helmet designs to help commemorate Ferrari’s landmark.

This year marks 75 years since Ferrari’s first road car rolled out of the Maranello factory, although the race team was founded in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari.

The team is best known for racing with an iconic red livery but yellow is seen as an unofficial second colour due to Italian racing cars being painted yellow in the early 20th century.

The changes will also be used to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Monza circuit, which has hosted all but one of every Italian Grand Prix since F1’s inaugural world championship season in 1950.

Ferrari will aim to seal a first win on home soil for three years, with the Scuderia unable to challenge for victory in the past two Italian GP’s.

Leclerc scored the team’s first win at Monza for nine years in 2019 during his first full season at Ferrari, while Sainz will look to add to his Monza podium for McLaren in 2020.

Ferrari’s title hopes appear to be a near impossibility with seven races remaining, as Max Verstappen sits 109 points clear of Leclerc in the drivers’ standings, while Red Bull holds a healthy buffer to Ferrari in the constructors.
