Ferrari has become the final team to unveil its 2021 Formula 1 ahead of the new season as it presented the SF21.
The Italian outfit comes off the back of its lowest finish in the constructors’ championship for 40 years as it endured a miserable 2020 campaign, finishing sixth in the standings.
It was severely hampered by an engine down on power and a car that was too draggy, ending the year with just three podiums to show for its efforts.
In a bid to revive its fortunes, Ferrari has designed an all-new power unit for 2021 that the team is confident has addressed its straightline speed deficit.
Unveiling the new challenger on Wednesday, the SF21 sports a traditional red livery but also features burgundy at the rear of the car that was used to celebrate its 1000th grand prix entry last year.
Ferrari’s Mission Minnow branding returns for 2021 having been absent throughout the previous campaign, appearing most notably in a splash of green on the engine cover.
As per the regulations for 2021, the car carries over last year’s chassis but is designed to meet the new rules regarding the floor and bargeboard areas.
Ferrari previously held a launch event on February 26 to reveal its revised driver line-up for the new season.
Two-time grand prix winner Charles Leclerc enters his third campaign racing for the Scuderia, joined by Carlos Sainz who has already made his first appearance in red since signing from McLaren.
The pair will get their first on-track outing in the SF21 on Friday as pre-season testing begins in Bahrain over three days.
