The rebranded AlphaTauri team has revealed a new-look livery ahead of a new era for the team in its first season racing under a new title.

Formally known as Toro Rosso from 2006-2019, the Faenza-based outfit launched the AT01 at the Red Bull-owned Hangar 7 in Salzburg, Austria.

This year’s challenger features a fresh look with a blue and white colour scheme, in what will be the team’s 15th season competing in Formula 1.

Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat form AlphaTauri’s driver line-up for 2020, aiming to build on a record-breaking year for the Red Bull junior team.

Gasly drove the first half of 2019 for the works Red Bull team but found the transition hard going that resulted in him being replaced mid-season.

Kvyat returned to full-time racing last year after a year on the sidelines when he was dropped by Toro Rosso, only for it to recall him to a race seat.

In its final campaign as Toro Rosso, the Italian squad managed to secure two podiums finishes in Germany and Brazil, the first since its one and only victory to date at the 2008 Italian Grand Prix.

A sixth-place finish in the constructors’ standings also equalled its best-ever championship finish, finishing just six points adrift of fifth-placed Renault.

The team confirmed the AT01 would hit the track in a shakedown test at the Misano Circuit on Saturday.
