Josef Newgarden was the defending champion for the Indycar championship. He just finished his third race for the season – a huge win for him. The race ended in a three-fight way between himself Ryan Hunter Reay and Scott Dixon. Even if you love the latest UK slots, we are sure you didn’t miss out on this news.
A look at how Newgarden made it count this time
In the recent past, Newgarden has struggled for his past five races. He had a tough month in May mostly when he didn’t do so well in Detroit and Texas.
Luckily for him on Sunday it was a big win for him. And he characterizedhis win by leading 52 to 53 laps of the race. He dominated the entire race from start to finish which was absolutely flawless.
About his Competitors
Ryan Hunter Reay was heavy on his tail the entire time, andhe drove at an impeccable speed. Ryan waited for Newgarden to slip up in any way and just take the lead. He was using the same strategy he used in Detroit when he was following Alexander Rossi. One thing about Ryan is that he drives with a lot of confidence, that day in Detroit he applied a lot of pressure, and Alexander slipped and slid off the track. Right there and then he took advantage and got the lead.
For Ryan, he decided to use the exact tactic stalking Newgarden, but kind of never got that quite close as he got to Alexander. Ryan had to settle for second place which for him is a pretty good result even though he is looking for wins. This was his fifth consecutive top-five finish and come up second in the championship which is the top he has been in a while.
Scott Dixon finished third. In the race, he was relatively quiet. He qualified eighth and didn’t make a noise. He kept it slow but surely, and he was able to make it. He didn’t quite compete for the second place with Heay. His championship lead is 45 over Hunter Reay and Alexander Rossi and 50 points over Newgarden.
Will Power was another man in the championship and he had a rough day. He is always at the front row as he always is but had mechanical issues that made him get back to the garage, tried to get back on track but it didn’t exactly work out. So he finished last. Luckily for him in terms of points, he is still fifth but falls way behind Scott Dixon.
Alexander Rossi was also in the race he was on point for a good number of laps but also had mechanical problems that made him fall back and finish almost last. Moreover, there were a couple of drivers who had an issue with him during the race. In a lot of his races, he has his confident way of driving style which might come about a bit more aggressive for some. He is the type of person who puts on a show on many of his races. He also did try to make passes at Takuma Sato and Robert Wickens by pushing them both to the grass and at the turns.
The race stewards didn’t penalise him but Takuma did feel he should have been penalizedat both incidents. Alexander said that he would do it again. This adds some bit of drama to the fans and for the media to talk and write about as they wait for two weeks for the next race.
