Toro Rosso officially launches the STR13

Toro Rosso has become the 10th and final team to unveil its 2018 Formula 1 car, with the STR13 being presented at Barcelona ahead of pre-season testing.

The car features a similar livery to last season, while the driver race suits have undergone a redesign.

The STR13 is the first Toro Rosso to feature the halo cockpit protection. It has opted to add an aerodynamic fairing to the top of the halo, similar to the design unveiled by Ferrari last week.

The team revealed a glimpse of its new car last week. Images of the new car had been leaked while the team was conducting a filming day at Misano. Toro Rosso’s response was to publish an official image of the new car on the same day.

This season will be Toro Rosso’s first with new engine partner Honda. The Japanese manufacturer replace Renault at the team, after Toro Rosso swapped power unit supplier with McLaren for 2018.

Drivers Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley have been retained by the team. Both were parachuted into the line-up towards the end of 2017 and as a result, both enter their first full season in F1 in ’18.

Pre-season testing commences at the Circuit de Catalunya on Monday morning, with Brendon Hartley driving the STR13 on the opening day.
