Red Bull has revealed its race livery for its 2018 Formula 1 car, after initially launching the RB14 with a ‘special edition’ livery.
The team unveiled its 2018 car with a camouflaged paint scheme which was used during a filming day at Silverstone last week.
The new livery, revealed on the opening day of pre-season testing, retains the matte finish that the team first used in 2016 and is a similar design to that used on last season’s car.
“We launched the car last week in our special edition ‘Disruption’ livery. The ‘DisruptoBull’ was always intended as a one-off: handy for us to make a splash without revealing too much about the RB14,” said Red Bull.
“It garnered many admiring glances and did sensational business on social media, but today we’re back in our more familiar scheme.
“This will be our third season using the matte design – though the underlying scheme can be traced all the way back to 2005 and our rookie season in F1 when the RB1 raced with a livery that has made its mark.
“We’re still a relatively young team in F1 terms – but over the last 13 seasons our distinctive blue, yellow and red scheme has achieved a level of recognition of which we’re proud.”
The most notable alteration is the addition of Aston Martin branding on the rear wing, as well as a more prominent logo on the monocoque, as the car manufacturer has become Red Bull’s title sponsor this year.
The RB14 in its new livery is being driven on the opening day of pre-season testing by Daniel Ricciardo.
