# Red Bull unveils RB14 with ‘special edition’ livery

Red Bull has unveiled its 2018 Formula 1 car, the RB14, with a ‘special edition’ livery.

The RB14 features “a bigger acreage of change than in most years” to the bodywork courtesy of 2018’s regulation alterations.

The shark fin, T-wing and monkey seat have all been removed accordingly and the car features F1’s new-for-2018 halo cockpit safety device.

The team is only the third to unveil its 2018 car after Haas and Williams, with most of the remainder of the grid set to be unveiling their new machinery later this week.

Red Bull will reveal the car’s 2018 race livery at the first pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya next week. The current livery, for use during Monday’s filming day at Silverstone, serves to conceal sensitive elements of the new car, similar to Red Bull’s 2015 ‘camo-bull’ livery which was used during testing.

In an effort to improve early season form, Red Bull’s winter schedule has been advanced by five days. This has translated to an earlier car launch than in previous years, when the team has been “aggressively late” in delivering its new package.

Red Bull will hope that the RB14 can propel the team back into title contention, after a promising end to 2017 in which Max Verstappen took two victories in Malaysia and Mexico.

Verstappen’s brace of victories took Red Bull’s total for the season to three after Daniel Ricciardo snatched his fifth career win in Azerbaijan earlier in the year.

Both Ricciardo and Verstappen return with the team this season in an unchanged line-up. Ricciardo will be the first to drive the RB14 in Monday’s filming day at Silverstone.
