Sirotkin to share Williams with Kubica in post-Abu Dhabi GP test

Sergey Sirotkin will share Williams’ 2017 challenger with Robert Kubica in the post-Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tyre test, according to Autosport.

Sirotkin is currently serving as Renault’s reserve driver and has participated in four Friday practice sessions this season for the team, following previous runs with Renault and Sauber.

The Russian will drive in the post-race test, ran to help Pirelli evaluate its 2018 compounds.

Kubica is widely rumoured to be the favourite to replace the retiring Felipe Massa and partner Lance Stroll for the 2018 season.

Pascal Wehrlein, current Williams reserve driver Paul di Resta and Red Bull reject Daniil Kvyat are among the other contenders for the seat.

It remains unclear whether or not the Grove outfit is considering Sirotkin as an option for next year.

The team will announce its 2018 line-up following the test.
