Of the 20 drivers that will line up on the grid in Hong Kong next month, five will be making their Formula E debuts.
Seven rookies are expected to compete over the course of the 2017-18 season, including Kamui Kobayashi, who will make a one-off appearance for Andretti in Hong Kong.
This year sees a major influx of talent to the FE grid, an indicator of the still relatively new championship’s popularity among drivers. The World Endurance Championship, GP2, and Formula 3 are all titles already won by this year’s rookies, whose experiences vary from single seaters to sports cars.
