Valentino Rossi has been officially declared fit by to participate in this weekend’s Aragon Grand Prix just 21 days after breaking his right leg.
The Yamaha rider suffered a displaced fracture to the tibia and fibula of his right leg on August 30 while training on an enduro bike in Italy.

Rossi was forced to miss his home round at Misano a week later, and was expected to be out of action until at least the Japanese Grand Prix in October after doctors set a recovery time of 30-40 days.
However, almost three weeks after suffering the injury Rossi took to Misano on a YZF-R1M to assess his physical condition in view to a possible early comeback at Aragon.
Having completed 20 laps of his home track, Rossi decided to fly to Aragon to attempt to ride this weekend after undergoing a successful medical check-up in Italy.
Rossi underwent a further medical assessment at the Aragon circuit on Thursday afternoon, which was carried out by the track’s chief medical officer Clemente Millan, and was passed fit to ride.
The Italian – 42 points adrift of joint championship leaders Marc Marquez and Andrea Dovizioso – will now contest the opening 45-minute free practice session on Friday morning before deciding whether to carry on or not.
Should he decide to pull out, Yamaha World Superbike rider Michael van der Mark will take Rossi‘s place and contest his MotoGP debut.
