# Carlin British F3 duo get European test

British Formula 3 duo Enaam Ahmed and James Pull will test a European F3 spec-car for the first time this week.

Ahmed, who became the joint youngest British F3 champion with Carlin last weekend, is hoping to step up into the European series next year. He has the backing of Carlin boss Trevor Carlin.

“Enaam’s hit a \[high\] level and should be aiming for European F3 now,” he[said](https://www.motorsport-news.co.uk/news/british-f3-champion-ahmed-eyes-euro-f3/). “He’s absolutely ready for the move up to  that championship.

“If he did a race now, he would be super-competitive, so with a winter of testing behind him he’ll be very strong for next season.”

Ahmed took 12 wins with Carlin on his way to the F3 title, wrapping up the competition with one round to spare.

He will get his first taste of the faster Volkswagen-Dallara car at Silverstone on Thursday, where he will run alongside British F3 team-mate James Pull.

Pull is currently battling with Toby Sowery for second in the championship.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity,” Pull said. “It’s a big step for me in my career.

“The car is fantastic and a lot of great drivers have driven with Carlin in F3, so to have the chance to follow in their footsteps and show what I can do is a really great feeling.”

Carlin’s Lando Norris is currently leading the European championship, with three of his team-mates 5th, 6th, and 7th in the standings.
