# Leclerc and Rowland DSQ from F2 feature race at Spa

Formula 2 championship protagonists Charles Leclerc and Oliver Rowland have been disqualified from Saturday’s feature race at Spa, handing Artem Markelov his third win of 2017.

Their cars failed post-race scrutineering as their underfloor planks were deemed to have sustained excessive wear breaching the regulations.

Leclerc dominated the race to win by over 26 seconds while Rowland lost second place to Markelov on the final lap but still recorded his ninth podium with a third place finish.

Both drivers have been removed from the results giving Russian Time their maiden one-two finish with Luca Ghiotto moving up from fourth to second place.

Prema Racing’s Antonio Fuoco is moved up to third, his second podium of the season ahead of the Racing Engineering duo of Gustav Malja and Nyck de Vries.

Sergio Sette Camara, who prior to Spa failed to score a single point all season, takes eight points for a sixth place finish. Former Formula 1 driver Roberto Merhi is now seventh with Norman Nato in eighth and on pole for Sunday’s sprint race.

Trident’s Santino Ferrucci is now ninth with Robert Visoiu picking up his maiden point of 2017 in tenth.

Rowland and Markelov both received five-second penalties for their final corner incident on the final lap. Though it had no effect on either drivers’ finishing position.

The Russian’s victory moves him to within eight points of Rowland’s second place in the drivers’ championship.

Russian Time leap into second in the teams’ championship and are just 10 points adrift of leaders DAMS.
