# Leclerc fastest again in wet F2 qualifying at Spa

Ferrari junior Charles Leclerc was fastest in a wet Formula 2 qualifying session at the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

Championship leader Leclerc battled through the difficult track conditions to beat the DAMS duo of Nicolas Latifi and title rival Oliver Rowland.

Leclerc’s 2m20.842 was quicker than Latifi’s effort by over six tenths.

Gustav Malja was fourth at the chequered flag – marking his best qualifying result of the season. New team-mate Nyck de Vries was sixth quickest for Racing Engineering.

Luca Ghiotto was seventh with Russian Time team-mate Artem Markelov only ninth after his charge was halted by the timing of a red flag.

Brazilian Sergio Sette Camara binned his car with just under four minutes remaining of the session bringing out the red flag and forced Markelov among other drivers to halt their flying laps.

Former Formula 1 driver Roberto Merhi was eighth fastest for Rapax. Alexander Albon was one of only two drivers to set his quickest lap after the red flag, he will lineup tenth on Saturday.

Deletraz was 13th on his maiden outing for Rapax. Ralph Boschung couldn’t replicate strong practice pace with only the 14th quickest time.
