Kimi Raikkonen will race with Ferrari in the 2018 Formula 1 season.
The 2007 champion’s contract had been due to run out at the end of the year, and there was speculation he could retire after 15 years in F1.
Ferrari has now confirmed it has renewed its agreement with Raikkonen in a short statement on its website in the build up to the Belgian Grand Prix. No details have been announced.
Raikkonen returned to Ferrari in 2014, having left the Italian team in 2009.
So far this season he has taken four podium finishes but is yet to claim victory. He lies fifth in the championship, 86 points behind team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
Ferrari is yet to confirm championship leader Vettel’s future. His contract is also due to run out at the end of the year.
