Aston Martin and former Formula 1 engine suppliers Cosworth joined the current F1 engine suppliers and commercial rights holders to discuss the future of the sport.
According to Autosport.com, Aston Martin, Cosworth, Magneti Marelli and Zytek attended the meeting for the first time this past Tuesday.
The Volkswagen Group were amongst those outside groups which returned for this second meeting, following the first back in March.
The aim of these meetings is to decide which engine formula F1 should adopt from 2021 onwards.
Early reports indicate the meeting was positive and productive, with hybrid engines seemingly still in favour in order to make the sure the sport’s technology continues to advance.
Another meeting is scheduled for early September, by then we should get a better idea of which manufacturers (if any) will enter Formula 1 as an engine supplier in some capacity in 2021.
