Dani Pedrosa has taken pole position for tomorrow’s Catalan GP, the 30th pole position in his career.
Pedrosa beat out Jorge Lorenzo to take pole, whilst teammate Marc Marquez had a session to forget. The triple world champion crashed out twice in Q2, adding to his two crashes suffered earlier in the day. Somehow, The Spaniard will start from fourth place on the grid tomorrow.

Third place went to Danilo Petrucci, continuing on from the good form the Pramac rider showed at Mugello. He’ll line up alongside Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the front row of the grid.
Joining Marquez on row two will be Aleix Espargaro and Hector Barbera, both enjoying great qualifying sessions. Andrea Dovizioso will line up seventh with Jonas Folger eighth and Maverick Vinales ninth. Alvaro Bautista will start tenth, with Scott Redding eleventh and Andrea Iannone twelfth.
The shock of the session was Valentino Rossi, who missed out on Q2. The Doctor will start from thirteenth tomorrow and will have it all to do.
Tomorrow’s race gets underway at 13:00 BST at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
