Cal Crutchlow led a late charge to end Friday’s final free practice session on top, ousting Andrea Dovizioso from the top spot.
The Briton was around the top pace all session, but a late lap handed first position to the LCR Honda rider. Andrea Dovizioso looked to be taking a comfortable lead into tomorrow but had to settle for second place.
MotoGP rookie Jonas Folger was the talking point of the session, with the German pushing hard to end the day third. The Tech 3 rider continue’s to impress on his Yamaha M1 machine. His teammate, Johann Zarco, was fourth.

Dani Pedrosa, Hector Barbera and Alvaro Bautista were fifth, sixth and seventh respectively. Andrea Iannone ended the day in eighth place, joined by fellow countrymen Michelle Pirro and Danilo Petrucci in ninth and tenth.
It was a bad day for many of the championship contenders. Maverick Vinales crashed out of the session, meaning the Spaniard ended up in 13th place. His teammate Valentino Rossi, nursing injuries suffered last week in a training incident, was just ahead of him in 12th place.
Marc Marquez struggled down in 14th place, with Jorge Lorenzo finishing 11th.
The MotoGP riders will return tomorrow to determine who will go into Q1 and Q2 ahead of qualifying.
