Maverick Vinales continued to impress as the Spaniard took pole position for tomorrow’s French GP.
Vinales was able to beat out teammate Valentino Rossi to start tomorrow from first position. However, the star of the show was Johann Zarco.
With the backing of the French crowd, Zarco put in a blinding performance. The double Moto2 world champion was able to fight with Vinales for pole and received a great reception when he returned to parc ferme in third place.
Zarco will be looking to be the first French premier class winner of the French GP since 1958. He’ll certainly have the crowd behind him based off today, however.

Behind Zarco will be Cal Crutchlow, who will head up the second row. Marc Marquez will join Cal, after again crashing his Honda at turn three. Andrea Dovizioso will start from sixth place.
Scott Redding will start from seventh after crashing out on the final turn during a quick lap. Pol Espargaro will start from eighth, giving KTM a first top ten start. Karel Abraham put in a great ride to start tomorrow from ninth.
Bradley Smith will start tenth, followed by Jack Miller and Loris Baz.
Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo were unable to get through Q1, so will have a job to do tomorrow if they want to reclaim any points from their poor starting positions.
The French GP gets underway at 13:00 BST.
