Raikkonen tops final Barcelona practice

Vettel’s session ended prematurely due to a second mechanical issue in as many days. Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top three, nearly four tenths adrift of Raikkonen.

Valtteri Bottas was grounded in the garage for the opening 50 minutes due to an engine issue, the Russian GP victor managed to head out in the closing stages and set the fourth fastest time tenths away from his team-mate.

The Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo ended the session in fifth and sixth respectively. Followed by Nico Hulkenberg and Felipe Massa.

Spaniards Carlos Sainz Jr. and Fernando Alonso completed the top ten in ninth and tenth respectively. After a nightmare FP1, Alonso firmly got his weekend back on track with one of his strongest sessions of the season.

The two by two formation resumed outside the top 10, with the Romain Grosjean leading the Haas duo and Mexican Sergio Perez edging his team-mate Esteban Ocon by less than a tenth.

Daniil Kvyat’s handling woes continued, he ended the session in 15th ahead of five drivers who are still yet to score a point in 2017; Marcus Ericsson, Lance Stroll, Jolyon Palmer, Stoffel Vandoorne and Pascal Wehrlein.
