1996 witnessed the first ever Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park after 11 years of Adelaide hosting the event.
It marked the first race of a brand new season and the debut of a young Canadian, who would begin a season long battle with his more experienced teammate, a battle that would go down to the very last race.

22 drivers entered the first race of the season but the Forti duo of Andrea Montermini and Luca Badoer failed to qualify within the 107% rule and thus weren’t allowed to start the race.
This weekend sees the Albert Park street circuit host its 22nd Grand Prix but can you name the 20 drivers who competed in the very first race back in 1996?
