# GP3 Race winner Boschung graduates to F2 with Campos

Campos Racing have revealed Ralph Boschung will contest the inaugural season of the renamed  FIA Formula 2 Championship for the Spanish outfit.

Boschung, 19, made his GP3 debut in 2015 with Jenzer Motorsport, beating his more experienced team-mates and narrowly missing out on a place in the top ten in the drivers’ championship.

He switched to Koiranen GP for his second season and won the Austrian sprint race in torrential conditions. However, he was forced to sit out three rounds due to a lack of sponsorship.

Boschung expressed his delight and laid out his targets for the season ahead.

“It is amazing to step up to the FIA Formula 2 championship,” he said. “Besides, driving for Campos Racing, which has a huge experience in motorsport working with top drivers.

“I want to learn as much as possible. My goal is to achieve points finishes in the first half of the season and then, building off the positive momentum, capture my first podium with more experience in the car.

“I’ve moved to Spain now and have already started to meet all of the team and worked on their simulator.

“I’ve been training hard over the winter to be ready, so I believe I’m at the right level of fitness.”

Founder Adrian Campos has proclaimed his delight at securing Boschung’s services.

“I´m delighted to have Ralph with our team in the FIA Formula 2 championship,” he said. “It´s amazing to have a rookie driver at Campos Racing who was a race winner and podium contender in the highly contested GP3 Series.

“We are excited to help him make this transition. We have a promising season ahead”.

Campos’ 2016 drivers won’t be returning to the Spanish team in 2017 after Sean Gelael along with title sponsor Pertamina switched to Arden and Mitch Evans is focusing on his Formula E commitments with Jaguar.

Boschung will get his first taste of F2 machinery when the first test kicks off this Monday at Barcelona.
