Following Mercedes’ announcement that Valtteri Bottas will partner Lewis Hamilton for 2017, we thought it would be the ideal chance for readers to test their knowledge of the flying Finn’s career so far.
Bottas began karting at the age of six and made the transition to car racing in 2007. He enjoyed great success in junior formula including winning the 2011 GP3 Championship.
He earned promotion to Formula One in 2013 and instantly made a big impression. He convincingly out-qualified and out-pointed Felipe Massa over their three years together as teammates.
His efforts put him in pole position for the Mercedes seat when Nico Rosberg announced his shock retirement and sure enough he got the seat.
