# Agag anticipating Gutierrez title challenge in season four

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag has tipped Formula E’s newest driver, Esteban Gutierrez, to mount a serious championship challenge if the Mexican makes his full-time debut in season four of the all-electric series.

It was recently announced that the Mexican, who was dropped by Haas in favour of Kevin Magnussen for 2017, would make his Formula E debut at his home round in Mexico City.

The 25-year-old will also compete in New York and there are rumours of him participating in further rounds before the end of the season.

“This year Esteban is going to be on a learning curve in Formula E – he’s missed two races of the season already, so it’s not a season for him to try to win the championship, but a season to learn. He’ll race in Mexico and New York

“And then after that in season four, I think he’ll have a proper race driver and will be one of the guys who is going to fight for the championship.” Said Agag.

Agag also added “I was in GP2 when Esteban was there and obviously he’s a great driver. He’s a young driver and has a long career in front of him and is choosing to follow his career after Formula 1 in Formula E.”

Although it hasn’t officially been confirmed yet, it’s believed Gutierrez will replace Loic Duval at Dragon Racing for his home race on the 1st of April.
