Six reasons why you MUST watch F1 in 2017

It’s January 1st, 2017 so the time for reflection is over and instead, it’s full speed ahead to a new Formula One season.

Just 84 days separates us from the lights going out in Australia and in that 12 weeks, we have plenty to look forward to.

After months of artistic impressions and a little bit of photoshopping we will finally see the new-look F1 cars in the flesh and how the teams have interpreted the new regulations.

After that, we will then see the innovations and the tricks designers hope others won’t have thought of and believe will get them a step ahead of their rivals as the new cars roll out in Barcelona.

Ironically the two things, the initial photo shoot and then the bits they don’t want you to see, will probably come on the same day (February 27) as many teams now wait until the first test before revealing their new designs.

With such radical changes coming for this season, that could well be the avenue for most of the teams as designers work right up until that deadline to finalise their initial concepts.

We will enjoy some cars being launched before the first test as teams like Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull still opt for a grand unveiling. Other designs may well be spotted at secret tests elsewhere too, Fiorano and Silverstone instantly spring to mind.

But while the new rules are the biggest reason to get excited, it is far from the only reason why 2017 could re-ignite your love for F1.
