Five questions raised by the 2016 F1 season

It’s three weeks since Nico Rosberg survived Lewis Hamilton’s ‘crawl in the desert’ to claim the 2016 Formula One title.

Much has happened since including the German’s own shock decision to retire from the sport just days after his triumph at Abu Dhabi.

Yet, while the dust has settled on one of the most hectic season’s in recent times, there is still plenty of questions left unanswered by the events of this season.

For some, we will get answers in 2017, but others will require patience before we realise exactly what this year meant and how it will be remembered in F1 history.

In this slideshow, I will look at five such questions and offer an insight into how they came about and possible outcomes in the future. Let’s begin:
