# Albon fastest on day two of GP2 Abu Dhabi test

ART Grand Prix’s Alexander Albon topped the second day of GP2 testing in Abu Dhabi with a time of a 1m49.062 ahead of day one pacesetter Raffaele Marciello and 2016 GP3 champion Charles Leclerc.

The 22 drivers were met with blistering temperatures in the morning session followed by a cool evening session to round out the second of three days of testing this week.

There were once again multiple red flags due to numerous mechanical issues for many drivers. Antonio Fuoco was one of the biggest suffers, his ailing Prema, caused the first and last red flags of the day.

His teammate Charles Leclerc also had issues, and a stoppage at turn 3 in the morning session yielded a red flag. The Monegasque driver ended the day third quickest with his Italian teammate ninth, just under half a second from Albon’s time.

Jordan King, who tested for RUSSIAN TIME yesterday, ended the session fourth quickest, today with MP Motorsport. Sergio Sette Camara in the sister car set his best time in the morning and was P7 in that session.

Johnny Cecotto continued his strong Abu Dhabi form by setting today’s fifth quickest time, once again for Rapax. The Italian team also ran Nyck De Vries today. The Dutchman ended up in tenth on the timesheet.

Oliver Rowland was quickest of all in the morning and then posted the seventh quickest time in the afternoon, fellow DAMS driver Nicholas Latifi finished the afternoon session directly behind him in eighth.

Daniel Juncadella endured a difficult return to GP2 with multiple technical gremlins that prevented the Spaniard from getting the desired amount of laps in for Pertamina Campos Racing.

Carlin also suffered an unlucky testing day with Felix Serralles completing just 11 laps in the morning session and Mahaveer Raghunathan grinding to a halt at turn 7.
