# Bradl gets first taste of WorldSBK Honda in Aragon

Former Moto2 World Champion Stefan Bradl made his World Superbike debut today at the MotorLand Aragon Circuit, as pre-season testing got underway ahead of the 2017 World Championship.

The German rider makes the step over to WorldSBK with the Ten Kate Honda team having spent the last five years in the MotoGP World Championship, three of which on an RC213V and the last two with the Gresini Aprilia squad.

Bradl spent the day on the 2016 Fireblade getting to grips with WorldSBK machinery and Pirelli tyres. He found the Honda to be vastly different to what he was used to in Grand Prix racing, and admits that he needs to change how he rides somewhat to get the best out of the bike.

Despite a small technical issue during the session, the German rider still managed to complete 60 laps of the MotorLand circuit and said that he hugely enjoyed the experience. Testing resumes tomorrow, and Bradl is looking to just put in as many laps as possible in order to better understand a World Superbike.

“It was a good day for us. I had my first shakedown on the bike and everything went really well. I can really feel the difference in everything between this and a MotoGP bike: the gearbox, engine, tyres, suspension, etc,” he said.

“But in the end it’s still a race bike and all I want to do is ride it as fast as I can around the circuit! I’ve already got some good information and I know I just need to change my riding style a bit. I also need to put in more laps in order to make sure things become automatic and to get a better overall feeling with the package. The bike is not as direct as a MotoGP machine but, at the end of the day I like it and enjoyed it, and that’s the most important thing.”
