Rosberg vows not to change in final two races

With just two races to go in the 2016 season, Nico Rosberg vows he will not change his approach in an attempt to clinch the world championship crown.

A victory come Sunday afternoon at the Brazilian Grand Prix will guarantee championship success for Rosberg, regardless of the result from teammate and title challenger Lewis Hamilton.

Despite finishing second at the last race in Mexico, Rosberg’s approach has been taking every race one at a time, knowing that the permutations of the title fight rest in his control.

“Mexico wasn’t ideal”. Rosberg said. “I was going for the win as always but Lewis was just a little bit faster all weekend. Sometimes you just have to accept that and be satisfied with your work.

“I’m not going to change my approach. I need to keep doing what helps me perform at my best and that’s going for the win every time.”

Having won on the past two occasions in Brazil, the form book is in Rosberg’s favour especially as Hamilton has never won at Interlagos before. Nico has a clear shot at taking the title and must take it to avoid a nail-biting finish in Abu Dhabi at the end of the month.

With inclement weather expected over the course of the race weekend, the track can be especially tricky in wet conditions and could just cause an upset.

“There are still two races to go and anything can happen in this sport,” Rosberg added.

“I need to focus my energy on the factors that I have in my control. I’ve got good form in São Paulo.

“It’s one of the real classic tracks, which usually produce some exciting races, so I’m looking forward to getting out there and having a big battle in front of those awesome Brazilian fans.”

Rosberg recently tweeted himself preparing for the Brazilian Grand Prix and looked to be in good spirits.
