# Miller looking forward to Japan after missing Aragon round

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS Honda’s Jack Miller is looking forward to getting back on his RC213V at Motegi after being forced out of the Aragon Grand Prix through injury.

The Australian suffered a fracture to his right hand in a crash during warm up in Austria in August, forcing him out of the Red Bull Ring race and the Czech GP a week later. He was back on the bike for the British Grand Prix, but was once again sidelined the following week in Misano due to the fracture.

Miller’s eagerness to continue racing did not allow his fracture to heal properly, thus prolonging his woes. The Marc VDS team benched him for the Aragon race and replaced him with 2006 MotoGP World Champion Nicky Hayden, the American scoring a point on his Grand Prix return.

Though still not 100% fit, Miller has had over a month to undergo rehabilitation and says his hand is ‘much improved’.

The Dutch TT winner hasn’t had the best of records at the Twin Ring Motegi. He retired from last year’s rain-affected race, and his best result at the track is a fifth place in the 2014 Moto3 contest. Though the hard-barking characteristic of Motegi will take its toll on Miller, he will undoubtedly still have his sights set on battling for the points this weekend.

“It’s always tough to miss a race through injury and I’ve missed a few recently, but I’m positive all will be good for Motegi this weekend,” he said.

“Missing Aragon was the correct decision because the fracture in my hand wasn’t fully healed, so I would only have made things worse by racing there. Since Aragon I’ve been home in Australia working hard to get back to full fitness. Most of the training has been on the bicycle, but I also spent the last three days out on the water with the Jet Ski, which was fun. The hand is much improved and I’m looking forward to getting back on the bike this weekend in Motegi.”
