# Peugeot Saxoprint announce new line-up for 2017

The Saxoprint Peugeot Moto3 team have announced an all new rider line-up for 2017, with Jakub Kornfeil joining rookie Patrik Pulkkinen at the German squad next season.

Kornfeil has been racing in the lightweight class of the World Championship since the 2010 season and has made two trips to the podium so far in his career, both of which coming last season. The Czech rider is currently 10th in the standings with the Drive M7 SIC Honda team.

“We were looking for an experienced rider, who is able to finish constantly in the top 10,” said Saxoprint Racing General Manager Florian Prustel. “With Jakub we found such a rider. He is not only a constant rider with a lot of experience, he is also able to finish on the podium and able to win races.”

Making his Grand Prix debut in 2017, 15-year-old Patrik Pulkkinen is a former European Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup winner and current Red Bull Rookie Cup rider. The Finn ended this season 14th in the standings with a best result of fifth in the second race at Brno. Pulkkinen has enjoyed some testing mileage with his future team at Aragon already and has been on Saxoprint’s radar for some time.

“We are looking at Patrik for a considerable time. We were testing with him a lot at Aragon and the results were convincing. Together with the team and alongside Jakub he will be able to learn a lot and to develop is talent and potential,” Prustel added.

As for the team’s current line-up, Albert Arenas, who was brought in mid-season as Alexis Masbou’s replacement, will join the Aspar Mahindra team next season whilst Brno race-winner John McPhee is expected to move to a BT-backed Honda squad.
