# Formula E Season Three: Our predictions

The third season of Formula E gets underway this weekend in Hong Kong and with it a cloud of uncertainty and questions will begin to lift.

Heading into the season opener, Renault e.Dams are the clear championship favourites after winning the last two teams’ Championships and setting extremely quick times in testing.

Eyes will be firmly fixed on Jaguar and Techeetah (previously Team Aguri), who will be making their Formula E debut’s this weekend. the latter of which set numerous fastest laps in testing.

The Chinese team are the second team running the Renault Z.E 16 power train and if testing is to by, their lead driver Jean-Eric Vergne could be fighting for the Drivers’ Championship this year.

It’s not just new teams who will be making their debuts this weekend but five rookies will be racing for the first time. Among them, 2015 Formula Three champion Felix Rosenqvist and triple WTCC champion Jose María Lopez.

Season three of the all-electric racing series is set to be the most unpredictable season yet, but we’re going to get off of the fence and make our predictions for the 2016/17 season:
