# Formula E Season Three Preview: DS Virgin Racing

Ahead of the new FIA Formula E season, we are previewing each of the 10 teams which will take to the grid in Hong Kong on October 9.

Since joining the series in 2014-15, Virgin Racing have been consistently fighting at the front of the grid. The driver pairing of Sam Bird and former Red Bull backed driver Jaime Alguersuari was relatively successful, eventually finishing fifth in the Constructors’ Championship, taking two victories.

Alguersuari was replaced by another former Red Bull junior in Jean-Eric Vergne. Despite only taking one victory, DS Virgin did establish themselves as the next best team behind Formula E pacesetters Renault e.Dams and ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport.

DS Virgin will be hoping to continue on this upwards trajectory in season three with Bird remaining with the team. WTCC champion Jose Maria Lopez replaces the departing Vergne.
