# Pedrosa: It’s important we keep our feet on the ground

Repsol Honda Team’s Dani Pedrosa heads into the third Spanish round of the 2016 season keeping his feet on the ground despite sensationally storming to victory at Misano two weeks ago.

Pedrosa became the World Championship’s eighth successive different winner this season in San Marino, after a brilliant call to run the softer front tyre saw the Spaniard carve his way through the pack from eighth to the lead in 21 laps.

Misano was something of a perfect storm for Pedrosa. The warmer temperatures experienced during the weekend allowed him to be more competitive because he didn’t have to work the tyres so hard in order to generate heat into them, something that has been an issue for the diminutive Spaniard since Michelin introduced harder carcasses in Austin.

However, Honda have steadily improved the troublesome RC213V over the course of the season, and Pedrosa has found more pace from the bike in recent races. With those improvements bearing fruit last time out, Pedrosa comes into the Aragon Grand Prix in good spirits.

Pedrosa has a fine record at the 3.1-mile Spanish track. He won the 2012 event, finishing on the rostrum in 2010, 2011 and 2015, the latter coming after a hard battle with Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi in which he held off the Italian for second.

Despite coming to a track he has enjoyed a lot of success at in his career and off the back of one of his finest victories in Grand Prix racing, Pedrosa isn’t getting too far ahead of himself. The Spaniard is focussed on continuing to improve the bike as so he can fight for the win on a regular basis. That being said, he is also keen on giving his legion of fans something to cheer about on home soil.

“Of course we’ll arrive at Aragón in a good mood, as things that had already started getting better a couple of races earlier went perfectly at Misano, and we were able to achieve a great result. Anyway, it’s important that we keep our feet on the ground, as the races are very close and hard-fought this year,” Pedrosa said.

“We must remain totally focused on our job and on our goals, which are to continue building on the base setup we’ve been working on lately and to find the pace to stay at the front. My fan club will be here and I’ll try my best to put on a good show for the fans.”
