# Rossi not thinking about title battle ahead of Aragon

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi has said that is only interested in ‘doing good races’ from now until the end of the season as he gears up for the 14th round of the 2016 MotoGP World Championship from MotorLand Aragon.

The nine-times World Champion has gradually closed the gap to championship leader Marc Marquez since racing resumed in Austria last month, taking second in the standings from Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo in the process. The Italian heads into the final five races of the year 43-points adrift having finished on the podium in the last three events.

Despite still being in the running for his eighth premier class title, Rossi is refusing to get drawn into a championship battle and has once again iterated his intentions to take each race as it comes and aim for the maximum result possible.

Aragon is a place the Italian is yet to win at, though he has taken two podium finishes at the Spanish track in 2013 and last year after a titanic battle with Honda’s Dani Pedrosa. Rossi notes that key to success at the circuit will rely on being able to hit the ground running with bike set-up on Friday

“Even though I wanted to win in Misano, I can say that it was a good race anyway. In all the next races we will do our best to get always the best result, just like we did in Misano,” said Rossi.

“The only thing that interests me now is to do good races. In Aragón we will have to work well from day one, as we have been doing this entire season. This circuit has fast corners and hard braking, so it will be important to have a good bike, with a perfect set-up. I really like the track and, even if it is not one of my favourites, we will try to do our best.”
