# Rosberg leads Raikkonen in Singapore GP second practice

Nico Rosberg responded after crashing in the morning session at Turn 18 by topping the timesheets in second practice for the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

Under the lights of Singapore, Rosberg was the man to beat in second practice as drivers continued to get to grips with the tricky street circuit.

Rosberg’s benchmark of a 1m44.152s stood at the top of the timesheets for the majority of the session as in traditional fashion, all of the teams completed their running on high fuel ahead of Sunday’s race.

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen was closest to Rosberg’s best time in second position, two-tenths off the pace.

The two Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were next up in third and fourth respectively. Ricciardo had set a fastest middle sector, but lost over three-tenths in the final sector.

Sebastian Vettel was unable to optimise the ultrasoft tyre on his qualifying run and was only fifth fastest, one second down on Rosberg.

Force India will be encouraged with their drivers showing in FP2 as Nico Hulkenberg was sixth fastest whilst Sergio Perez was just outside the top 10 in 11th.

Lewis Hamilton only completed 10 laps in the W07 after he suffered another technical gremlin which meant he was unable to complete any high fuel runs.

Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso and Daniil Kvyat rounded out the top 10 spots.
