2016 F1 Mid-Season Review: Williams

2016 F1 Mid-Season Review: Williams

It seems a long time since Williams beat Ferrari in the Constructors’ championship.

After two third place championship finishes, the team’s performances this year has been somewhat disappointing. Not only have they failed to take a step forward, but they have also slipped away from the very top of the field.

Currently lying fourth in the championship, Valtteri Bottas’ third place in Canada is the single podium to Williams’ name in the twelve races so far this season.

After a relatively strong start to the season, things have started to fall away for the Grove-based outfit, as consistent points results turned to retirements and finishes towards the back of the field.

Heading into the summer break, the British team are 146 points behind third place team Ferrari with hopes of catching up with the top three teams in the second half of the season pretty much non-existent. Indeed, now Williams will have to focus on staying ahead of the charging Force India.
