2016 F1 Mid-Season review: Haas

2016 F1 Mid-Season review: Haas

After postponing their Formula One launch by a year, everybody was curious to see what Haas would bring to their first season in the sport.

It’s easy to underestimate what the team have achieved, with many pointing to their close link to Ferrari for the success they’ve had, but there’s a lot more to a race team than the car and its components.

Haas combined youth with experience in their 2016 line up. Romain Grosjean, looking for a change of scenery after some frustrating years at Lotus, brought the experience, whilst Ferrari test driver Esteban Gutierrez took the second seat.

So far, the line-up hasn’t done too badly but the standings don’t reflect the team’s performance on the track.

Haas are currently eighth in the standings, however, many near misses from Gutierrez and some bad luck ruling Grosjean out of races mean there could have been much more from the latest addition to the Formula One grid.
