Lewis Hamilton never looked back after taking the lead of the German Grand Prix at the Hockenheim, dominating from the opening lap.
Hamilton took the lead from his teammate on the opening lap and dominated the race from the front.
The Red Bull duo of Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen joined Hamilton on the podium as they both overtook Rosberg on the opening lap of the race.
Nico Rosberg was fourth and now is 19 points behind Hamilton in the drivers’ standings. Rosberg recovered to second briefly but was awarded a five-second penalty for pushing Verstappen off the circuit which dropped him behind the Red Bull pairing.
Both Ferrari drivers had a lonely drive to fifth and sixth respectively, Sebastian Vettel leading Kimi Raikkonen.
Nico Hulkenberg was a solid seventh, overtaking Valtteri Bottas in the latter stages – whose risky two-stop strategy did not work out and dropped behind McLaren’s Jenson Button for eighth. Sergio Perez finished 10th, scoring a point.
