Nico Rosberg maintained his three-tenths of a second advantage over Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in second practice for the German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring.
Like in first practice this morning, Rosberg was three-tenths clear of Hamilton as he looks to reclaim the lead of the drivers’ standings before the summer break.
Track limits were a big talking point with many drivers continually running wide at Turn 1.

Once again, Sebastian Vettel was best of the rest in third fastest. He led the Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo. The second Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen was the only other driver to be within a second of Rosberg’s benchmark.
After running on the medium compound tyres in FP1, Force India showed their true speed in second practice with Nico Hulkenberg setting the seventh fastest time ahead of McLaren’s Jenson Button and Sergio Perez. Fernando Alonso was 10th fastest in an encouraging day for McLaren.
Williams continued to struggle for pace and were only 13th and 15th fastest respectively.
