Massa: Hockenheim could be a good track for us

Felipe Massa believes the upcoming German Grand Prix at the legendary Hockenheimring could suit the strengths of the Williams FW38.

Formula One did not head to Hockenheim in 2015 or any German circuit for that matter. The Nurburgring was meant to host the race under an alternation agreement, however, a final agreement was not made with Bernie Ecclestone.

In 2014, Williams showed strong pace at Hockenheim, qualifying second and third behind Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg and Massa is hoping Williams can show an upturn in form after some difficult races.

The Brazilian has only scored two points since the Monaco Grand Prix in May, after scoring in each of the first five races of the season.

Massa’s future with the team and the sport is under threat and he needs a strong result.

“It will be nice to return to the German Grand Prix after we didn’t have it last year,” said Massa.

“We’re heading to Hockenheim, a track I really enjoy driving. I hope we have a good race because the Hockenheimring could be a great track for our car. We’ll see at the weekend.”
