Formula One returns to the Hockenheimring after a year away. With four German drivers on the F1 grid, there will be a lot of support for Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Nico Hulkenberg and Pascal Wehrlein.

Rosberg stormed to a home win in 2014 whilst Fernando Alonso made it back to back wins at the Hockenheimring in 2012, winning ahead of Jenson Button.

The circuit may lack character compared to the full-length version which was used in 2001 but it’s still a favourite amongst many F1 drivers.

Mercedes will surely be the team to beat once again but it remains to be seen whether Red Bull or Ferrari can challenge the Silver Arrows on home turf. The long straight in the second sector may mean Red Bull will find it difficult.

Williams and Force India will be hoping to be the fourth fastest team after McLaren took that accolade in Hungary.
