Raikkonen crowned Driver of the Day for Hungary

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen has won the Hungarian Grand Prix ‘Driver of the Day’ award for his recovery drive from 14th place on the grid to finish sixth.

The award is voted by F1 fans after each race and this is the first time Raikkonen has won the award.

The Finn started the Hungarian Grand Prix from 14th place after setting his final time in Q2 when the track was not at its driest.

He quickly made his way through the order and pressurised Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for fifth place but was unable to pass the 18-year-old.
