Nico Rosberg continued to set the pace in final practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring.
Despite topping the timesheets, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was just 0.002s off Rosberg’s benchmark. It remains to be seen however whether Red Bull are credible contenders for pole position this weekend or if Mercedes have pace in hand.
Daniel Ricciardo made it two Red Bulls in the top three, ending FP3 in third place ahead of Hungarian Grand Prix specialist Lewis Hamilton, who has won at the Hungaroring on four previous occasions.
Kimi Raikkonen led Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel in final practice, four-tenths the difference between the duo.
The battle for Q3 looks to be very close between McLaren, Williams, Force India and Renault – who showed impressive pace with Jolyon Palmer ending the session in 10th place whilst Kevin Magnussen was 12th.
At a track which many expected to suit Toro Rosso, both Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat struggled for pace and were languishing in 16th and 18th place.
