# Prost wins first Formula E race since Miami ePrix

Renault e.dams’ Nico Prost won his first race in Formula E since the Miami ePrix over one year ago, after starting from pole position.

The result is fantastic for the Renault team who are aiming for their second Teams’ Championship title. With Daniel Abt retiring from the race and Lucas di Grassi finishing fourth, they extend their lead going into the final race.

It was a perfect Saturday for the Frenchman. He looked impressive during the practice sessions, and was lucky to be able to set his qualifying time before the rain came out. He grabbed pole position with ease and was never troubled during the race, not even after the safety car came out.

!That’s the kind of race you always want: to start from the front and then just control it. It was fantastic,” Prost explained after the race. “There is never an easy race, but it doesn’t get better than this one! I didn’t know about everything going on behind me, I just stayed focussed myself as the worst that can happen in this situation is that you mess up.”

It look more likely that Renault e.dams will retain their title, but Sebastien Buemi is now three points behind rival Di Grassi. He may need a little help during the final race tomorrow, and his teammate is ready to help.

“To have a back to back win would be fantastic, but the track changes a lot dependent on the weather conditions. We have to concentrate and make sure we score the maximum points we can to keep the teams’ championship.

“For me, I will try to help Séb where possible as well.”

The race today was thrilling, and the final race at Battersea Park tomorrow is bound to be just as good.
