# Iannone to start from the back of the grid at Assen

Ducati’s Andrea Iannone will have to start from the back of the grid at Assen after colliding with Jorge Lorenzo in today’s Catalan GP.

Iannone, who has already been punished once this season for taking out teammate Andrea Dovizioso on the final lap at Argentina, collided with Lorenzo after failing to stop his Ducati whilst going into turn 10. Iannone’s Ducati hit the rear of Lorenzo’s bike, causing the pair to crash out. Luckily, both riders were unhurt in the crash, and both walked away with Lorenzo looking very angry with Iannone.

The crash had a direct impact on Lorenzo, as it caused him to lose his lead of the world championship. Iannone’s championship fight is all but over, and this incident will only go to show how right Ducati were to get rid of the 26 year old for 2017.

Dorna will hope that this is the last time Iannone is involved in any incidents. Hopefully, after two penalties, the Italian has learnt his lesson…
