# Iannone leads Lorenzo in Mugello FP2

A stunning lap from Ducati’s Andrea Iannone put him fastest in second practice in Mugello ahead of Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo.

Iannone, who took pole in 2015, was a whopping 0.461s clear of Lorenzo in P2.

After FP1 was hit with rain, the Mugello track was busy as riders began to get grips with the circuit.

Iannone and Lorenzo exchanged times at the top of the timesheets throughout the session before a late lap from the Italian rider, who moves to Suzuki in 2017, put him top of the timesheets.

Michele Pirro was an impressive third fastest ahead of Suzuki’s Aleix Espargaró and Honda’s Marc Marquez.

After languishing in the lower reaches of the top 10, Valentino Rossi managed to put a lap in to go sixth ahead of Maverick Vinales and Scott Redding.

Cal Crutchlow was ahead of the factory Honda of Dani Pedrosa in ninth with Pol Espargaró rounding out the top 10 for Tech 3.
