The 2016 Russian Grand Prix may turn out to be a crucial landmark in the race for the 2016 Drivers’ Championship as Lewis Hamilton suffered yet more bad luck and was prevented from challenging teammate Nico Rosberg in the race.
Consequently, Rosberg now leads the championship by over 40 points. Hamilton has a long and tough climb back to the head of the championship.
Kimi Raikkonen may have secured Ferrari’s 700th podium in F1 however, Ferrari isn’t making the gains on the Silver Arrows that many fans would have hoped last winter.
His teammate, Sebastian Vettel was eliminated on lap one after Daniil Kvyat twice ran into the back of the German. Behind, carnage occurred as Gutierrez, Hulkenberg and Haryanto all collided.
